The Rowan Reunion established the JRC Memorial Scholarship in honor of James R. Crump Sr who was a dedicated and loving member of our family.    The first scholarship was awarded in 2006.  The scholarship will continue until funds received for this purpose are exhausted.  You can find more information about this scholarship by clicking on the Scholarship page.

The Rowan Reunion James R. Crump Sr. Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Donald L. Oldham, III.  Donald is the son of April and Donald Oldham, Jr., the grandson of Edsel & Sallie Thruston, and the great grandson of Georgia Ida Olney Crump Thruston.

Donald is a graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis Indiana.  He received an Indiana Academic Honors Diploma for obtainning GPA 3.0/4.0.  While in high school he received numerous honors and awards, such as, 2002 and 2005 honor roll, and PTO Award - 2003 and 2004 for student demonstrating Character and Values.  He received addtional recognition as a musician and athelete.

Donald was accepted to Ball State University were he will major in Business with a concentration in Finance.  One of his goals, while at BSU, is to be on the Dean's List.  After completing his undergraduate degree, he plans to obtain his MBA.  His career goal is to join his father in his Allstate Insurance & Financial Agency to direct the financial planning department.

Donald wrote in his essay "Family is a major part of my life and very important to me.  My family is a group of people that is always proud of me and pushes me beyond my own expectations.  They are also there through the good and bad times.  They are there when the world seems against me.  They are there to share my joys and when I make mistates.  Family loves you unconditionally."  

The Rowan Family is proud of Donald's achievements and beieve he will reach his stated goals.  We are also appreciative of the love and support he has received from his family.  As his extended family we wish him all the best and will keep him in our prayers.
