Joan L. Calhoun, 70, of Rockport, Indiana, went to Glory on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Linda E. White Hospice House with her two daughters by her side.

Joan “Joannie” was born in Owensboro, Ky on June 5, 1953. She was the daughter of Dorothy Rowan Lindsey (Elden Cleon Lindsey, Sr.), granddaughter of Annie May Rowan, great-granddaughter of James Rowan (Ellen Rock Rowan), and great great-granddaughter of Harry and Catherine Rowan.

She was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church and was the retired owner of Joannie’s Hair and Nail Design.

In addition to her parents, Joannie is preceded in death by her son, Matthew Dane Calhoun, and brother Eldon “Panny” Lindsey Jr.

Joannie loved her family, especially her girls and grandbabies, she enjoyed shopping and visiting any casino with her girlfriends.

Joannie is survived by her daughters Joshalyn (Moe) Sutton, Jaharidan Calhoun and fiancé Ebon Green Jr., her grandchildren Gabrielle, Dominic, Emanie, and Sydney, her siblings Sharon Macon and Marsha (Robert) Williams, as well as her nieces, nephew, great nephew and great niece.
