George Brown Jr. was born on April 22, 1923 to the late George Brown and Lottie Carrol in Kingsport, TN.  He went to Douglas High School in Kingsport, TN.  After graduating high school George joined the Navy and served in World War II.  Once Geroge was home from war, he went on to further his education at Tennessee State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree.  While at Tennessee State, he played football and met his late wife Bobbye Jean Valentine Brown.

George Brown Jr is survived by his three children, Marcia C. Brown, George V. Brown, and Dana C. Brown, three grandchildren, Nikki C. Brown, George P. Brown, and Stephen C. Brown, and one grandchild Evelyn H. Brown, and a host of relatives and friends.

George departed this place on November 29, 2017.  He was loved by many and will be missed.  Those who really knew George appreciated his thoughtfullness and love for family.  His impact on the students he taught and trained during his coaching days, are still being felt today.
