Gary Montez Thurman Sr. passed away November 17, 2012. He was born October 17, 1946, in Indianapolis. He attended Shortridge High School and Indiana University, Bloomington. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Zeta Epsilon Chapter. He served in the United States Navy 1964-1969 including a tour in Vietnam. He was a member of Second Christian Church. He was employed as a sounds engineer, and a computer, electrical technician.

He is survived by his former wife Cecelia Thurman, daughters: Monica Thurman-Burns, LaNette Thurman, and LaTresse Thurman-Reynolds, sons: Gary Thurman Jr (Nailet), LaMonte Thurman (Denise) and Chris Booth, sisters: Bobbye V. Brown (George), Etta Joan Ford, Saundra Custis (Dwight), Patricia Thurman, and Rose Tanner, brothers: Barry Bowles (Vivian) and Ike Bowles.

Services will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with calling from 10:00 A.M. Omega Service from 12:15-12:45 P.M. Arrangements: Crown Hill Funeral Home.
