William "Dollar Bill" Rowan, Sr., 65, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Friday, June 25, 2010, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on May 26, 1945 in Owensboro. He was a Machine Operator for Johnson Control and a farmer. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Chapel. He enjoyed farming, the Kentucky Derby and his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Rowan; five sons, William "Chubby" Rowan of Phoenix, AZ, and William Rowan, Jr. (Krystal), Ken Rowan, Ricco Rowan and David LaRoche all of Owensboro; his parents, Ellis and Georgia Ann Rowan; two stepsons, Gary Shelton and Bryant Shelton both of Owensboro; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Rowan of Owensboro and four sisters, Patricia Mays of Owensboro, Brenda Duneghy of Evansville, IN, Angie Rowan Webb of Illinois and Cynthia Duneghy of Madisonville, KY.
Services are at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Blessed Sacrament Chapel, 602 Sycamore St. in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
