Willie Mae Wimsatt, 81, departed for glory peacefully on May 16, 2009. She was born July 20, 1927, to the late William "Sonny" and Ernestine Crowe Watson.

She was a member of Tenth Street Baptist Church for many years. She was a tough cookie and overcame numerous bouts with her ailments. May 16, she stopped fighting to rest. Willie Mae enjoyed life. Her children and grandchildren contributed great joy to her later years. She was loved beyond expression by her family.

She leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Charles (Paulette) Howell, John (Gloria) Winstead and Ronnie Johnson, all of Owensboro; a daughter Sharon (Carl) Thomas, Shelbyville; grandchildren, Andrea "Shun" (Brian) Berry, John (DaBonna) Winstead Jr., Latasha (Jerry) Fletcher, Shawna (Chico) Hanley, James Winstead, Camesha Jackson, Sanchez Johnson, Lynette Bailey, Carl Hudson, Tiffany Riley, Antonia Carbon, LaQuinya (William) Johnson, LaRon Johnson, Robert Smith, RuNisha and Ariana Winstead; great-grandchildren, Xaviana, Iesha, Jayon, Darrien, KeShaun, NaKalah, Willie, JaJuan, Noriah, Chico Jr., Caprice, Cameron, Jamen, Bra'san, Tra'san, Xavier, Cain, Jazlyn and Kaden; a sister, Mildred Wimsatt; and a brother, John (Elizabeth) Watson both of Indianapolis. A special cousin, Jean Ann Webb, Winnetka, Calif.; and two fantastic friends, Ms. Mary Louise November and Mary Glory Williams; six nieces; 13 nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
