Velita Douglas of Owensboro was born September 2, 1946 to the late Earl Joseph, Sr and Sallye Frances Taylor Moorman. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 1, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was the daughter of Earl J. Moorman and Sallye F. Taylor Moorman, the granddaughter of Lucian Moorman and Pearl Hayden Moorman, the great-granddaughter of James M. Hayden and Julia Rowan, the great-great-granddaughter of Henry Rowan and Mary Mundt Rowan, and the great-great-great-granddaughter of Harry and Catherine Rowan.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by: her husband, William Edward Douglas Sr....

Teresa L. Durr, 64, of Fairview Heights, IL departed this life on Sept. 30, 2024, in the comfort of her home. She was the daugther of Early Moorman Sr & Sallye Taylor, the grandson of Pearl Hayden & Lucian Moorman, the great grandson of Julia Rowan & James Hayden, the great-great grandson of Henry Rowan & Mary Mundt.

Memorial Services will be at 12 Noon Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Spirit Filled New Life Church, 4936 Hazelwood Avenue. Visitation with family and friends will be from 11-12 Noon at the church.

She was the granddaughter of Willie Levi Crump , the great granddaughter of Ella Rowan Crump, the great-great granddaughter of Levi Rowan, and the great-great-great granddaughter of Harry & Catherine Rowan.
Affectionately known as “Fannie” to friends and family, she peacefully passed away Sunday October 1, 2023, at age 85. Fannie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold Preston Ford, grandson David Starks, stepdaughter Andrei J. "Pandy" Ford, and brothers Barry, Joseph and Gary Thurman.

Mrs. Amanda Evelyn (Thruston) Gordon, the beloved only daughter ofthe late Samuel and Georgia Thruston, was born on February 24, 1925 in Owensboro, Kentucky, where she grew up with her two brothers, Felix Thruston (deceased) and Edsel (Sallie) Thruston.
On February 18, 1950, she was joined in holy matrimony with Reverend Richard W. Gordon - a union that lasted 66 years - and together they raised two beautiful children, Adrian (Carolyn) Smiley and Thaya (Edward) Morant.

Evansville - Vernal Oliver "Booder" Hall, 55, left his earthly home January 18, 2021 at 8:45 a.m. at Deaconess Hospital. He was the son of the late Vernal "Moose" Hall and Mary Louise Hall.
Booder, as everyone knew him, graduated from Central High School as an outstanding basketball player.
