Ellis Rowan, 99, of Owensboro, passed away on January 28, 2022, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born in Petit, on October 10, 1922, to the late Henry and Daisey Readers Rowan (grandson Levi Rowan, great grandson of Harry and Catherine Rowan). . Ellis loved nature, animals, and was a devoted farmer and Christian. He was a faithful and loving family man, a devoted husband, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Harold Augustus Rowan, 84 of Owensboro, was called home to glory on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Heartford House of Hospice Western Kentucky in Owensboro. He was born on November 13, 1931 to the late Henry and Daisy Rowan.

He accepted Christ as his Savior on September 3, 1944 at New Hope Baptist Church in Pettit, Ky. He was a faithful member of Fourth Street Baptist Church. Harold enjoyed fishing, barbequing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He attended Western High School and later served in the U.S. Army. It is with great sadness that the Smith family announces the death of Samuel “Sam” Smith (age 79). He passed away on May 18, 2022 with his loving wife and devoted son by his side. He was born in Welch, West Virginia and later moved to Hazard, Kentucky. He attended Hazard High School and went on to pursue a college career in basketball with University of Louisville.
