He was born in Petit, on October 10, 1922, to the late Henry and Daisey Readers Rowan (grandson Levi Rowan, great grandson of Harry and Catherine Rowan). . Ellis loved nature, animals, and was a devoted farmer and Christian. He was a faithful and loving family man, a devoted husband, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Harold Augustus Rowan, 84 of Owensboro, was called home to glory on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Heartford House of Hospice Western Kentucky in Owensboro. He was born on November 13, 1931 to the late Henry and Daisy Rowan.
