Richard Suttherland Sr., 80, of Owensboro departed this life Friday, March 21, 2014, at Owensboro Center Nursing Home.  He was a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church.  Richard retired from W.R. Grace Co. after many years of service.

Service for Georgia will be held, 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 11, 2021, at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 3000 High School Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, with visitation held from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm, all taken place at the Church.

(She was the daughter of James Wilber Hayden, the eldest in our family for many years, the granddaughter of Julia Rowan Hayden and great granddaughter of Henry and Mary Munt Rowan.)

Felix “Buddy” Thurston Jr. died July 6, 2022 at age 73 in Santa Monica, CA. He was the son of Felix and Helen Thruston, grandson of Georgia Crump Thruston, great grandson of Ella Rowan Crump and great-great grandson of Levi Rowan. He was an outstanding basketball player and got drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks. He was also an educator.

Richard Allen Thurman, age 56, the youngest of two children, was born on December 3, 1963 in Indianaplis, IN.  He was the son of Lois & Joseph Thurman.  He passed into the Kingdom of the Lord on August 28, 2020.   Richard (Ricky) attended School 43 Elementary.  Westland Middle School and Broad Ripple High School.  While living in Indianapolis, Ricky worked construction and various jobs.

Ricky and a couple of his friends opened a successful upscale men's shoes & clothing store.  He later worked at HCMC Hospital where he met the love of his life.  Natalie Nordang, her children, Tyler, Joceyln and grandchildren.  He lived in Minineapolis for 26 years.

Gary Montez Thurman Sr. passed away November 17, 2012. He was born October 17, 1946, in Indianapolis. He attended Shortridge High School and Indiana University, Bloomington. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Zeta Epsilon Chapter. He served in the United States Navy 1964-1969 including a tour in Vietnam. He was a member of Second Christian Church. He was employed as a sounds engineer, and a computer, electrical technician.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009 in the Chapel of Peace at Lavenia, Smith and Summers Home for Funerals, with calling there from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, John T. Wimsatt, Wayne Wimsatt; brother, John W. He was born July 18, 1940 in Pettit, Kentucky to the late Georgia Rowan and Chris Williams. He was the grandson of James Rowan, great grandson of Henry Rowan and great-great grandson of Harry & Catherine Rowan.

He was an Associate Minister, active participant in the Brotherhood Organization, sang faithfully on 5th Sunday’s in the Brotherhood Choir at the Sweeney Street Missionary Baptist Church, Owensboro, KY., and was employed by Owensboro National Bank for approx. 9 years.

Willie Mae Wimsatt, 81, departed for glory peacefully on May 16, 2009. She was born July 20, 1927, to the late William "Sonny" and Ernestine Crowe Watson.

She was a member of Tenth Street Baptist Church for many years. She was a tough cookie and overcame numerous bouts with her ailments. May 16, she stopped fighting to rest. Willie Mae enjoyed life. Her children and grandchildren contributed great joy to her later years. She was loved beyond expression by her family.
