William was surrounded by his loving family prior to his passing and accompanied by his loving wife of 38 years, Lucille Shively, at his final hour.

 

He was born February 27, 1931, to James Harvey Shively, II and Clara Cabniss Shively in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the grandson of James Harvey Shively I and Julia Wright; great-grandson of Octavia Richardson Shively and Edmond Nathaniel Shively.  Octavia was the sister of Mary Louisa Richardson Rowan, wife of Ed Rowan, son of Harry and Catherine Rowan.

Adrian Tyrone Smiley Jr., commonly known as A.J., 43, of Fayettville, North Carolina, died November 23, 2019, peacefullly in his home that he shared with his beloved son, Alexander (Alex) A.J. was orn on February 20, 1976 in Indianapolis, IN at Methodist Hospital to Adrian Sr. and Carolyn (Lackey) Smiley.  A.J. attended Washington Township Schools, graduating from North Central High School in 1994 and attending Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis.

A.J. began working at a very young age.  At the age of three, A.J. began modelling and taping commercials for the Helen Wells Modeling Agency.  His infamous televisiion commercial was the for Marsh Groceries airing...

It is with great sadness that the Smith family announces the death of Samuel “Sam” Smith (age 79). He passed away on May 18, 2022 with his loving wife and devoted son by his side. He was born in Welch, West Virginia and later moved to Hazard, Kentucky. He attended Hazard High School and went on to pursue a college career in basketball with University of Louisville. He then went on to play professional basketball with the ABA. He married his wife of 56 years, Helen Ruth Smith and raised 2 beautiful children, Samuel Smith, Jr, and Nikki Fountain.

Crawford Lee Spann, 70, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully at Community Hospital on July 26, 2024, with his brother, Alfonzo, by his side until his final moments.


 
Born on January 16, 1954, in Indianapolis, Crawford was the son of Elizabeth Waterson and Samuel Spann. He was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church and attended Indianapolis Public Schools, graduating from Emmerich Manual High School in 1972. At Manual, he was recognized as one of the Top Senior Wrestlers and helped lead his team to the 1971 City Championship, winning the 167-pound weight class.

Felix “Buddy” Thurston Jr. died July 6, 2022 at age 73 in Santa Monica, CA. He was the son of Felix and Helen Thruston, grandson of Georgia Crump Thruston, great grandson of Ella Rowan Crump and great-great grandson of Levi Rowan. He was an outstanding basketball player and got drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks. He was also an educator.
